Fashion Week Aims for Uptown Funk

NYC Fashion Week Heading Uptown to Hamilton Heights

Though not officially confirmed, sources are saying that the February 11th Alexander Wang show at New York Fashion Week will be heading further north than usual.  The invitation for the event only listed an intersection- 146th at Broadway- but logic would serve that the site chosen for the show is the RKO Hamilton Theater.  The historic building opened in 1913 but has been unused for decades.  Since closing in 1958 the theater has served as a church, retail space, disco, and even a sports venue.  The 2017 NYFW has continued the trend of designers going further from the tents seeking out edgy or interesting locales. Hopefully, the Alexander Wang show turns out better than the infamous Yeezy Season 4 show on Roosevelt Island.
